Who is Most at Risk?
It isn’t uncommon for men finding out about this disease to wonder if they are at risk. Keep in mind, though, that Peyronie's disease is not a common medical condition, thought to affect 1 in 100 men. This disease typically affects men between the ages of forty and sixty years of age. Some men older than sixty have also been reported to begin seeming symptoms.
What are the PD symptoms?
Close inspection of the penis by the patient, partner or during an examination by a primary care physician may be among the first indications that something may not be right. If hardening of tissue beneath the skin seems unusual, it’s worth investigating. · Difficulty or pain during penetration
· Pain when erect, or during intercourse
· The penis appears shorter (in some cases, this could be up to four inches)
· The penis begins to narrow over time
What does testing and treatment involve?
There are a number of ways a physician can evaluate and diagnose the problem. Men can take a picture of their penis to show their doctors during their preliminary consultations. This can be followed by an examination where the doctor will attempt to find the scar tissue. It can be felt even without an erection.There are procedures the doctor may incorporate during the evaluation, including ultrasound or an injection of a blood pressure medication called verapamil, to better view the scar tissue. The test allows the doctor to see the severity of the condition as the penis becomes erect and how it’s affected by the scar tissue.
After initial testing and examination, it’s common for a doctor to tell a patient to “wait and see” how the condition develops. This is a typical course of action when the doctor believes the symptoms will resolve themselves over time. But an advanced or severe case of Peyronie’s may require more treatment.

ReplyDeleteDear Readers and suffers of peyronies. Most of the forums on the subject are time wasters; all pitch that they got the ´fix´ from peyronies discomforts and deformities. And if this were not bad enough, peyronies doctors pitching their penis stretcher devices and numerous pricking, cutting and prodding, as their recommended quick fix towards peyronies relief is very troubling to me! If you are a peyronies suffer, and want to get relief without forums´ so-called experts or doctors of questionable motives, actions and fees, please consider searching the internet with these three words; curezone, beesting, peyronies! What few peyronies doctors will not say to their clients is that 10 percent of their operations are failures! This means victims operated on by peyronies doctors are now penis-less for life! There is a much easier way to go — nature´s way to peyronies freedom.
