Male menopause (Andropause) is something that does exist and while many people may not take this very seriously, there is a lot of research that has been done to explore male menopause further. Male hot flashes are very real and any man that experiences a hot flash will likely never forget it.

    2. Chris, I think the symptoms are different....it's not really menopause -- that is a term should be reserved for women.

How about Andropause, which is a name that has been given to a menopause-like condition in aging men. This relates to the slow but steady reduction of the production of the hormones testosterone and dehydroepiandrosterone in middle-aged men, and the consequences of that reduction, which is associated with a decrease in Leydig cells

    4. Yes, heard the term andropause and i know it is a word we could use to bring attention this condition. I was just talking a bit 'tongue in cheek' when coming up with (http://medtopicwriter.com/2011/03/06/men-sexy-over-45-you-bet/) virpause in the piece on my site. --anything but menopause -- As a copywriter and content producer on a wide variety of subjects, I find that men are often left using female terms to define their similar health situations and are often left out of research entirely. Thus, I always tend to point it out when I see it. Men -- start using andropause or virpause when talking about this condition.

    5. Really? Is it applicable to all men? As far as I know, all women, when they reach the right age, they all experience menopause. How about men? Or there might be some factor that is why it occurs.

Guys can experience hot flashes just like women. Studies has shown that men may go through a multidimensional life change, which is their own version of menopause. Known in medical terms as andropause, it can last between 5 and 15 years

    10. Practice relaxation techniques and exercises like yoga. Have a massage, or practice aroma therapy. Lemon oil, for example, is a powerful anti-depressant and clinical studies have shown it can reduce stress and male andropause symptoms.
