Why Men Don’t Go to the Doctor!

By Guest: Michelle Sobel, STD Test Express
“I’m fine.”
“I’ll tough it out.”
“I’m sure it’s nothing.”
“It’ll go away.”
“I don’t have time.”

    2. Some men feel embarrassed with the idea that something might be wrong with their body, expecially if there is a suspicious symptom in a private area of the body. This is very dangerous, especially for young men between the age of 14-45, for whom Testicular Cancer is most common. It is very curable, but only if treated in its early stage when a lump in a testicle is first noticed...so seeing a doctor right away is extremely important.

    4. Going back 50,000 years, men have been raised to be the head of the tribe and now the household. We are the hunter/gatherers, and don't even think of crying. Sickness is a sign of weakness in the make psyche....just shrug it off and it will be ok.

Until this idea changes socially, men will go to the doctor dragging and kicking.

    6. I personally believe men are reluctant to go to the doctor because it take us a while to realize that we are not as youthful as we once were. Some men often believe that their bodies can deal with sickness or trauma in the same way it did when they were teenagers or in their early 20s, and this type of thinking causes these men to feel that their bodies will heal on their own which is quite contrary. By the time it is realized that they're not as quick to heal as they once were it can be too late.
