Why A STD Dating Site Is Awesome To Meet Someone!

STD dating for love, friendship or marriage
Today certain junior high-minded individuals in the blogosphere are snickering about STD-Love.com, a new online personals dating site tailored for people infected with STDs.

After all, STD, STI and VD rates are excelerating, and presumably, a lot of that has to do with the fact that our sexual partners are either completely in the dark about the fact that they are infected, or worse, lying when they say they're "clean," so to speak.

Conversely, the members of STD Love are responsible enough to keep up-to-date on their medical status, and courageous and honest enough to be totally up front about it, all traits that everyone is looking for in a intimate romantic partner.

  • Don't let anyone pressure you into giving away more information than you want to.
  • Beware of solicitation - watch out for anyone offering financial advice or asking for charitable contributions.
  • Even if you're arranging to meet someone, do not give out any unnecessary personal details such as your home address.
  • If you feel unsure or threatened by someone's behaviour, stop contacting with them immediately. Visit their profiles and use the block button to prevent any further contact.

    1. I think the std-love.com is a great idea. A lot of people, including myself feel a sense of shame and embarrassment when telling a new partner that you have an std. And usually they don't stick around, like your dirty or something. It hurts and has caused self esteem issues within myself. Using suppressive therapy has helped but when you have an std with no cure it is nice to talk to other people like you. Great post.

    2. This is good. More people need to know about this. I went to India where I had some one night stands with prostitutes. That is how I caught HIV and gential warts. But was not able to reveal it to anyone because of the shame.

    3. It's not just about finding a "new loved". There's also resources available that keep up to date with STDs. There are help groups and more that I can see how so many benefit from these communities.

    4. Good that this taboo has been broken. Will mainstream dating sites follow?

    5. Great idea for a site, removes old stigmas and stuff.

    6. I think that this is a great idea. In china, those who are found to be HIV positive are sent to a special HIV village. This may be a bit drastic but it does help to prevent further spread of the disease.

    7. Everyone needs to find a partner somewhere. The STD dating sites are available, but can't we develop a cure?

    8. We definitely need to reduce the stigma associated with having an STD so that people will not be afraid to get tested. Getting tested is the key to reducing the spread of STDs. Check out www.TestMeSTD.com for access to affordable and confidential STD screening services.

    9. Dating a person without STD or HIV is difficult. One it will breakdown when the truth came up. To avoid frustration and dejection the affected persons can avail the use of online HIV dating sites to meet someone to love and care each other. Some sites offer full support apart from dating service.

    10. I think that's a great idea, at least they are being responsible about it and not spreading their STD around. Who the hell makes fun of something like that, pure rubbish.

    11. Using an STD dating site to meet others with STDs? To me that is ridiculous. That is like taking a fire and then adding gasoline to it. It's only going to exponentiation and increase the number of STDs and potentially cause harm to someone.

    12. I know a friend and his girl friend have left him because of Gential warts. I think someone should be very careful when dating a STD person.

    13. Its True!

STD rates are rising and its actually a scary thing to consider.. we need to have more awareness about this!

    15. your Std .com is a good idea but still i have to say that people still have to keep themselves informed and try protect themselves from STD diseases otherwise they would suffer STD disease such as HIV,HERPES, CHAMILIDIA are most dangerous.

    16. I think this is also a public health concern. On one hand they are making the partner aware, and presumably both have the same disease. On the other hand that may be an incentive not to practice safe sex and could spread other STDs.

    17. Hey at least it's easy to be up front with another person that has an STD. Too bad that more people will probably mock it vs. using it.

    18. It's a very good idea, but I wonder whether it will work or not, after all, these people may have different STDs and this will result in some individuals getting multiple diseases.
STDs are not things to be taken easily and the website has to put a great pressure on presentation and protection.

    19. Its an interesting concept and atleast each person if honest about having an STI/STD. I mean hell, when you hook up with a random for a one night stand, how often will they come right out and let you know they may have and STD and let you deal with the consequences later on. I think its quite a responsible idea. Don't get me wrong, safe sex should always be front of mind and promoted though! It definitely should not be a way for those with STD's to continue its spread.

    24. I didn't even know STD-love site existed. What a cool idea! Even though I don't have any STDs myself there were times when I thought I might. So, I can imagine how people feel when they have something that they can't get rid of, and it's nice to know that they have a place to hang out with other people in a similar situation.

    27. People are unaware of the highly contagious nature of the herpes simplex virus. The WHO estimates that 85% of the worlds population if infected with it, although it often lies dormant in the body. Medical researchers have said that even if they find a cure that can remove the virus from the body, it is likely that you would be reinfected with it because it is so widespread.

    28. It's nice to know that there are sites like Std-love for people in a similar situation to hang out. On the other hand we can't deny that the numbers of AIDS, Herpes, HPV and other STD are increasing, so we need to be very careful and informed.

    29. "Don't let anyone pressure you into giving away more information than you want to." This is a must especially if it is only your first date. I appreciate how STD-Love.com does a favor to those who are fond of joining dating sites like Match.com, Alt Com, Adult Friend Finder, etc. as they share their experience. It makes everybody become aware and realize that sexually transmitted diseases are serious medical conditions.
